Coffee is not the only thing I find in the morning.

It's funny how little things can mean a whole lot:  a cup of coffee; a memento, an act of kindness...

I was prepping to begin work this morning when I needed to fetch a cup of coffee... and then... I realized that I needed a coaster... I went hunting for one and found my stack.  Two were crocheted by a dear neighbor and friend that went to heaven long ago and one was constructed recently from a dear friend from Michigan.  Those items put the thought and this blog into my head.  It's such a gift of love to receive something from someone that was given with a big heart and given specifically to you.  The receiver feels the love.

As I was making my way from the kitchen to my office, I noticed the trivet on my stove.  It's a bright and beautiful square that I received from a dear friend as she and her husband packed up and left our city many, many years ago - the trivet remains in my kitchen as does her love.

I arrive in my office, my yoga room, my respite and notice my small table and chairs that I've repainted over the years.  It was my grandmother's that my uncle built - it is mine now it and with ownership I revisit the memories of those that have sat on the chairs, laid work papers or treats on it's surface and provided love.

Ahhh... this morning is filled with friends and loved ones as I begin my work day

Dallas Stars Players - Are They Younger?

September 22, 2016

Today's media excursion and job was to the Dallas Stars Center in Frisco, TX.

It was Stars Media Day.  I guess I don't follow hockey enough - all the guys that I worked with today were very sweet, yet this baseball fan didn't know many of the guys on ice :)

AND after an early morning with the ice guys like:  Patrick Sharp; Jason Spezza; John Klingberg; Tyler Seguin ... I mean how old are these men?  Well, I did a little google searching and I found out the median age of my new friends was around 30... OMG.

AND, here's the midlife crisis... they all seemed sooooo young.  I mean SERIOUSLY how old is Mike Modano  - I don't remember thinking he was sooooo much younger than me, maybe because he and I were around the same age.

AND, I stopped in my own voice track when I referred to one of the players as "dear" OMG ...
I'M NOT THAT OLD...
of course you are only as old as you feel and this afternoon, well - I've recovered and I'm 33.

sweet Georgia

Wow! In Atlanta for work and had to stop by sweet Georgia's Juke Joint- this fried chicken had the best crust yummy... And the collard greens and Mac and cheese was great too... Topped off with sweet tea :) I'm one happy southern girl .

This restaurant was rated high on urban spoon and well deserved... Still working though so I have to head back and finish up a skit with Travel Leaders- this little jaunt was a great idea- sign me happy in Georgia.

A shot of coffee, Relay, relax,

Had a great cup of coffee this morning with my husband... It was coffee, Hazlenut, peanut butter, and chocolate... Yummy way to start the day... That and a great sunrise! Then headed out to Relay for Life for the ACR... My friend Britt and I painted faces and designed wacky hair for participants... Thanks for inviting us Anne McDevitt!!! And finished off the day at the dark park ... Where the moon was huge, Saturn was humongous and Venus was gorgeous. Met some new friends along the moonlight stroll... Brian, Patricia and her dog Macie, a red fox lab.... Fun night!
